Planning permission has just been received for our latest residential project.
The Bridge Road scheme is part of a 1980s office building located in Sutton town centre. Yeates Design have worked with the client and local authority to gain planning permission for the conversion of one wing of the building into residential units.
The intention is to strip the building back to the concrete frame before adding three floors to the existing structure. The building will then be insulated and re-clad in a red multi-stock brick creating modern and energy efficient homes. A new entrance core will be added to the corner of the building to provide independent access to the Bridge Road wing of the building.
This will create 32 new units in a prime town centre location comprising of 24 studio/1 bed flats, 2 x 1 bed duplex flats and 6 x 2 bed duplex flats. All flats will have private outdoor space.

Originally occupied by a methylated spirits factory this site between Mile End Park and the Regent’s Canal presented the ideal opportunity for maximising efficiency. The dual aspect allowed for double-banked flats off a single corridor on a scheme that we developed from 38 to 50 and on to 80 units over three applications. There is a communal terrace on the roof of the building.
